«ZOV Maps» is a mobile geoinformation platform for military use and is designed for geoinformation support in the performance of special tasks by units of types and branches of troops (forces) of the Russian Armed Forces, Rosgvardia, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Federal Security Service, Federal Protection Service, Ministry of Emergency Situations, General Prosecutor’s Office, Federal Tax Service, Federal Service for Drug Trafficking, Ministry of Justice, Investigative Committee, Federal Customs Service, etc.
«ZOV Maps» developed and implemented in order to create a domestic mobile universal software tool for geoinformation, navigation, military-applied, reference and calculation support capable of improving the efficiency of combat and special tasks of types and branches of troops (forces), to replace mobile applications of foreign origin.
«ZOV Maps» allows to work in autonomous mode: navigation, address search, display of geospatial data (topographic and special maps, aerospace images, elevation matrices, address bases, reference and thematic geospatial information, other information about the terrain), allows to draw, edit, receive and transmit the operational and tactical situation, to perform special calculation tasks of types and branches of troops (forces), to interact at all stages of troop management and fire control, to provide the following functions
«ZOV Maps» consists of a software part providing geo-information support on the basis of a mobile terminal (tactical tablet or smartphone) with advanced multimedia functions with a pre-installed Android operating system of version 6 or higher with hardware support, optional data transmission modules providing a hardware-software solution for receiving and transmitting text messages and objects of operational and tactical situation in the local communication system.
Problems Solved «ZOV Maps»:
- coordination and navigation support;
- topographic orientation and target designation;
- Offline and online mapping of vast areas;
- Ability to cache any source of tile maps, create your own tile maps from the existing tile cache;
- Utilizing user-entered custom source of tile cards and cloud storage;
- quick drawing, editing of point, linear, area, special or template conventional signs of the operational and tactical situation (OTO) in a unified system of signs;
- receiving, transmitting, editing OTO layers, short messages, control signals, etc;
- target designation, firing adjustments, fire control, target planning, linear and area coding of territories (“palette”), etc;
- calculating the scope of engineering works, creating maps (tracks) of mine passages, creating maps-formulas of minefields, etc;
- planning routes and navigation of movement using the navigation module (compass) of the mobile terminal or remote navigation receiver, setting up bypass areas, designating static and moving objects, march calculations when moving personnel and equipment, determining distances and areas of coverage, calculating missile reach sectors, profiling the terrain, plotting the position of enemy firepower, plotting terrain profiles, visibility zones (radio visibility), etc.
The basis of the Software Complex operation is the use of geoinformation data, which are downloaded from open or closed sources, when they are prepared in advance or promptly delivered via open or closed communication channels.
The input and output data when using «ZOV Maps» are the following geospatial data formats:
*.mbtiles – a file of tile maps;
*.zip – file of graphical primitives of operational and tactical situation, consists of zip-archived by character password json-file;
*.bkp – backup file of program data and settings;
*.zip – address database file, consists of a zip-archived character password db file;
*.zip – elevation matrix file, consists of a zip-archived passwordless array of hgt files;
*.kml, *.kmz – files of geoinformation exchange formats;
*.csv, *.txt – files of the list of georeferenced objects with description and coordinates;
*.gpx – files of recorded or imported / exported tracks from navigation devices.
